Care & Usage
Some models come equipped with humidistat and speed settings that can be operated by pressing the Mode button. To set the humidistat, press Mode until the display says Auto. Then choose your speed setting and then set your desired humidity level. The humidity setting can be increased or decreased by pressing the + or - buttons.
We recommend cleaning humidifiers weekly, more often if it uses hard water. Recommended cleaning products are undiluted vinegar or a mild household cleanser. Vinegar is the weakest and cleanser is the strongest.
Always turn the unit off and unplug before cleaning. Remove the water tank and wick filter, then empty any excess water from the tank and base.
To activate the nightlight press the light bulb icon. The nightlight will only activate when the room is dark and the nightlight has been turned on.
Always turn the unit off and unplug before cleaning. Clean the tank by adding one teaspoon of chlorine to 1 gallon of water. Let soak for 20 minutes, making sure all surfaces are wet. Rinse the tank thoroughly until bleach has been removed and replace with fresh water.
Filter life varies due to usage and hardness of water. We recommend you replace your filter every 2-4 months. Please check the filter monitor or the filter change sticker located on your unit to ensure that you are replacing your filter when necessary.
Untreated dry air enters the system around side and back of the humidifier. The dry air passes through the saturated wick filter. Moisture is added into the air while sediment, minerals and other impurities remain trapped in the filter. Clean invisible mist is the distributed throughout the room by a powerful quiet fan.
The amount of moisture the humidifier puts into your air in a 24-hour period. The amount of output needed will increase based on the size of the room.
Capacity is the amount of water a humidifier or vaporizer tank can hold.
A humidity level between 30 and 50% is recommended. A hygrometer is a measuring device that measures humidity. Hygrometers can be purchased on your local retailer.
Water flows from the into the water channel. The water channel automatically ensures the proper amount of water flows to the heating chamber. Water enters the heating chamber where the heating system warms the water. A warm mist rises from the humidifier outlet and is dispersed into the room.
Both warm mist humidifiers and vaporizers heat water to produce moisture. Vaporizers typically refer to the old “tub” style humidifier often found in drug stores. They are usually quite inexpensive and do not have any features such as a humidistat or removable tank. Warm mist humidifiers use more efficient technology to boil water and have more consumer friendly features.
A slow stream of water is released from the tank by a regulator valve. Then, the water then flows to the transducer, where the water is ultrasonically vibrated into soft, clean visible mist. A quiet fan propels the mist upward and into the air.
Both types provide relief from dry indoor air and personal preference is really the deciding factor. Warm moisture humidifiers, however, allow for the addition of medication to ease congestion. Cool moisture humidifiers provide cool, refreshing moisture to stale indoor air.
If condensation is building on the windows it means the humidifier is producing too much output for the space it is humidifying. If a humidistat is being used, then you can try lowering the humidistat setting. If not, you may need a lower output humidifier for the desired space.
Humidifiers provide relief from dry indoor air, which causes scratchy throats, dry skin, and bloody noses. Humidifiers also help prevent furniture from cracking and provide a healthy growing environment for plant life.
Allows for precise humidity control. A programmable digital LED lets you set a specific desired humidity level. 16 hour on/off timer allows the user to have the humidifier turn on or off after a specific time.
A humidistat is like a humidity thermostat and measures the amount of moisture in the air. On some models, simply set the humidistat to the humidity level you wish to maintain, and the humidifier will then run as needed to maintain the pre-set humidity level.
Allows humidity level to be set based on comfort level. Exact humidity percent is not known.
